About Avance Care Group

Avance Care Group (previously JOYinCARE Group) holds a strong position in elderly, disability, and rehabilitation care. The group specializes in the design, production, and distribution of lifting and transfer aids that reduce the physical burden on healthcare professionals. Under Karmijn’s guidance, Avance expanded both its product offering and service capabilities. In early 2023, the group acquired TR-Care, a specialist in the maintenance of care equipment, enabling a broader, full-service approach and making specialist aids such as ceiling lifts more accessible. The group also includes Confexion, a sewing workshop for custom-made lifting slings, where people with a distance to the labor market are employed.

A new phase of growth

Robert van Leeuwen, Chief Executive Officer of Avance Care Group, commented: “With Karmijn as a managing shareholder, we professionalized our operations and expanded our portfolio of products and services. Our next ambition is to grow further, especially internationally, with our innovative lifting and transfer solutions. With Knop Investments, we are confident we can realize that vision. Our mission remains clear: to help keep healthcare accessible and affordable, even in challenging times.”

Long-term partnership

Knop Investments focuses on medium-sized companies that prioritize people and sustainability, with a long-term approach aimed at benefiting future generations. The investment in Avance aligns strongly with this. The existing strategy will continue, and Loes Schilderink, Director of Innovation, and Wybren Terpstra, Managing Director of TR-Care, will join the leadership team of Avance Care Group.

Eric Jan Vink, representing Knop Investments, added: “Good care contributes to our well-being. We share a strong, sustainable vision with Avance, and we are committed to supporting the group in this next phase of its journey. Karmijn Kapitaal and the management have laid a solid foundation, and we look forward to a long-term partnership. As our first investment, Avance represents exactly the type of impact we want to make.”

A strong foundation

Ad van Herpen, Investment Manager at Karmijn Kapitaal, reflected: “Over the past four years, we’ve worked closely with Avance’s leadership to build a solid and diverse organization, expanding the product range and strengthening its position across various healthcare channels. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together and confident that Knop Investments is the right partner to take Avance into its next chapter.”
